Our proposal for the new CityPark in Haifa (formerly known as the Memorial Park) aims to bridge between Haifa’s History an the city’s green future. The spatial weakest corner of the park is strengthened through the carefully positioning of an elevated center which combines exhibition area, sky cafe, scenic lookout and lecture & event area. With it’s programmatic ufo-like shape an position the center hovers above an artificial lake with terraced stepping stones – the perfect area for outdoor events such as concerts, independence day festivities and night spectacles. The artificial waterfall from the center acts like a natural outdoor air-condition, refreshing the visitors on hot summer days and becomes an exciting an unique screen for projections at night.
